TAIR - The Arabidopsis Information Resource |
Arabidopsis Database (from TAIR Fall 2015 Newsletter). TAIR is supported by subscriptions and is the main source of experimentally validated Arabidopsis gene function data. Our curators extract new results from the primary literature and integrate them into TAIR on a weekly basis. Data curated by TAIR include gene descriptions, gene function annotations, gene symbols, alleles and mutant phenotypes, gene expression patterns and publications. These data are released to other databases (including Araport) after a one year delay. Only TAIR subscribers have complete access to recent gene function results added within the last year. |
Araport, Arabidopsis Information Portal |
Araport Database: (from TAIR Fall 2015 Newsletter) Araport is a framework that enables the research community to develop and contribute modules either in the form of data sets, applications that operate on the data, or both (Krishnakumar et al., 2015). It provides core functionalities for data mining and genome visualization and will be the source of future updates to the reference genome sequence. Araport relies on data federation in which TAIR and other projects are responsible for generating the data which are aggregated and displayed within the portal. TAIR data within Araport lag behind what is available in TAIR by one year. |
